Dermal Fillers

juvederm logoIt’s inevitable that the older we get the more our skin starts to lose its elasticity and youth. If you are left with a look that could use a little refreshing, it’s time to consider injectable dermal fillers for those wrinkles, lines or lost facial volume. We offer Restylane® and JUVÉDERM® products in Portland, Oregon, for women and men who would like to rejuvenate their appearance without having a surgical procedure.

How Fillers Work

Dermal fillers replace volume lost within or under the skin. We offer 2 of the most popular filler product lines, JUVÉDERM and Restylane, because they are FDA approved and look and feel natural when injected around the mouth, into the lips, or in other facial areas. Our fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the skin that helps the skin hold moisture and gives it youthful firmness.

Benefits of Fillers

Today, dermal fillers are formulated to correct a variety of concerns, which commonly include:

  • Smile lines and marionette lines around the mouth
  • Hollows under the eyes and at the temples
  • Flat, undefined cheeks
  • Thin lips
  • An undefined chin and jawline

The goal of our skilled injectors is to use the right amount of the right filler and injectable neuromodulator for your specific area(s) of concern. The illustration below shows areas that we commonly treat with these products, and the table shows which dermal filler products are most appropriate for various aesthetic concerns. Because results are temporary, the table also lists how long you can expect results to last.

Today, dermal filler options from Restylane and Juvederm are formulated for specific areas of the face. Our providers will assess your skin and facial anatomy and discuss the ideal product options to provide you with the most beautiful results.

Certain lines and wrinkles on the skin’s surface are a result of the dynamic underlying muscle. These are best addressed with Botox or Dysport. It is common for patients to be treated with a combination of Dermal Fillers and Botox for ideal outcomes and results.

If you’ve never visited our office for BOTOX or Dysport, you’re in luck. We’re excited to bring you the most valuable first-time patient offer in the Portland area.

When you buy 20 units of BOTOX or Dysport,* we’ll give you 20 units free, a $300 value. Even if you’ve visited us for other treatments, or have had Botox or Dysport somewhere other than our practice, you’re eligible!

Lip Fillers

Lip fillers are no exception; we have several options as each patient has different anatomy and goals when enhancing or defining and improving their appearance. Aging, thinning lips can be modestly treated to redefine shape where younger patients may desire more volume. Each patient is unique and the goal of our providers is to listen and select the ideal product.

Are lip fillers safe?

We only use FDA-approved lip fillers—making these treatments safe for most people. Side effects such as bruising and swelling are usually mild and fade within 30 days.

Do they hurt?

Discomfort during lip injections is minimal because we use very fine needles and topical numbing cream. Most fillers contain lidocaine to further enhance comfort during the injections.

How long do lip fillers last?

Results from lip injections generally last about 6 to 12 months depending on the filler used and individual factors.

Can Dermal Fillers Be Combined With Other Treatments?

For a more complete facial rejuvenation, your provider may recommend combining your filler treatment with other non-surgical treatments such as:

Procedure & Recovery

Our experienced skin rejuvenation specialists, Amanda and Thai, our RNs, and Colleen, PA-C, perform dermal filler treatments in the comfort of our office. Your injector begins with a consultation to discuss the improvements you’d like to see and determine which filler is best suited to your cosmetic goals and individual needs.

The filler is injected into the skin or lips using a tiny needle. JUVÉDERM and Restylane products contain lidocaine, a numbing agent, so the treatments create little to no discomfort. With just a few quick, precisely placed injections, your treatment will be complete.

Injectable fillers require minimal downtime and provide immediate improvements, so you’ll leave our office with your new look and can get right back to your daily routine.

You will need to return for touch-up treatments periodically to maintain your results. The time between treatments depends on the filler and area treated.
