Body, Thigh & Arm Lift
The natural aging process or significant weight loss can bring about unwanted changes to the body such as loose, hanging skin in areas including the upper arms, inner and outer thighs, abdomen, buttocks, hips and waist. This excess skin may be frustrating and bothersome to individuals who have worked hard for a healthy physique. The board-certified plastic surgeons of Portland Plastic Surgery Group offer arm, thigh, and body lift procedures to help Portland, Oregon, women and men feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin.
Your Body Contouring
While a procedure such as a tummy tuck can improve the contour of the abdomen area alone and CoolSculpting® can help some patients shed stubborn fat, a body lift provides a more comprehensive improvement to the entire lower body. In addition, arm lifts can be performed to tighten and tone the upper arm. A thigh lift focuses solely on the inner and outer thighs. Our plastic surgeons can give you smoother, firmer body contours with these plastic surgery procedures.
The body can lose skin elasticity and muscle tone for a variety of reasons, such as significant weight loss, pregnancy and childbirth, hormonal changes and aging. A body lift may help to improve the appearance of different areas of the body including:
- Lower back

Arm lifts provide targeted improvement to the upper arms, where loose skin and residual fat may accumulate. Thigh lifts focus on loose, sagging skin of the inner and outer thighs. When you meet with one of our surgeons for a consultation, you will discuss the areas of your body that are the biggest concern. For several of our patients, a body, thigh, or arm lift is frequently combined with liposuction for complete body rejuvenation.
Procedure & Recovery
The length of a body contouring procedure varies from patient to patient, depending on which area of the body he or she would like to target. In general, the procedure will take a few hours to perform. Your surgeon will review the surgical details with you during your consultation. Recovery from an arm or thigh lift generally takes about 1 to 2 weeks, and you’ll be instructed to avoid strenuous activity, including bending and lifting. Body lifts often require a longer period of downtime, because the procedure is more extensive.
