Your Labiaplasty

Most women who visit our practice for labiaplasty say that their motivations for pursuing surgery have as much to do with comfort as they do with appearance. A stretched or enlarged labia can interfere with exercise, sexual activity, and may even affect a woman’s choice of clothing. Often, feelings of self-consciousness or decreased confidence follow, affecting the way a woman perceives herself in intimate situations as well as day-to-day life.

Labiaplasty is a straightforward outpatient procedure that can markedly improve a woman’s feelings about herself and her body. During your consultation, you and your surgeon speak privately about your motivations for the surgery, as well as your health history and your ideal outcome.

Although many women undergo labiaplasty on its own, some choose to combine it with other procedures such as tummy tuck or breast augmentation. Your consultation is a great time to share your aesthetic concerns and work with your surgeon to determine your eligibility for other procedures.

Procedure & Recovery

When performed on its own, labiaplasty can often be performed under local anesthesia and sedation. Depending on your specific concern, a discreet incision will be made and excess tissue reduced for a symmetrical appearance that looks very natural. Our surgeons work carefully to not take away an excessive amount of tissue and to preserve your normal level of sensation.

Depending on the specifics of your procedure, you’ll need to take between 3 and 7 days to rest at home. Although light activity is permissible, you’ll need to avoid sexual intercourse and vigorous exercise for several weeks. Following the initial recuperation process, you’re free to enjoy activities which you previously couldn’t. With proper self-care, the results of your labiaplasty are long lasting.
